In the ancient lineage of the Hawaiian Kahunas  the ritual of Forgiveness was a very sacred ritual where everyone in the whole community was part of it this ritual.  

Unfortunately most of those tradations have been lost for they were passed on through verbal teaching vs written word so instead we have a modern world that view  Forgiveness as what I can get from it....We are more concern on what we can get than what we can give....

Today there is a wide spread information about the Hawaiian ritual called Ho'oponopono but unfortunately this is not the true Ancient Hawaiian Kahuna ritual but someone's interpretation. For those that have not been aware of the concept this is what is out there as a definition of Ho'oponopono - when you had done wrong you state the following:

Iam Sorry

Please forgive me

I love you

Thank you

and all is forgiven just like that.....

I have been very blessed and honored to have been able to have the opportunity to have been taught under a 7 generation ancestral Kahuna line from Hawaii. The true Ho'oponopono is a deep understanding of our Oneness. In that understanding of the Oneness we become aware of the true connection we have with each other in this Universal energetic matrix thus affecting each other. To understand the true meaning of Ho'oponopono you do need to go deeper than just words.  In my own experience this is a profound and transforming process that allows the individual to awaken to their own personal responsibility and take charge of their own journey as a mature conscious spiritual being.

The true in depth Ho'oponopono takes time and courage to stand and say "I Take Responsibity for the Wound Created".... it is to finally see the world as mature spiritual beings ready to take the responsibility that we are all in this world to work together and create Heaven in Earth. When we can see this and take the responsibility for Being Our Brothers Keeper....we can start to understand the real power behind a deeper meaning of the true Ho'oponopono.

To work at this level is to take responsibility when someone tells us they are hurt and not jump to a defensive attitude..... That is not easy for we have years of cultural conditioning of which makes us jump  into defending or rationalizing our actions. To truly work in the Hawaiian Kahuna's Ho'oponopono  tradition is to stand and take the responsibility of helping someone that has been hurt. It is not about looking for who is at fault but sincerely desiring the wound to be heal.  Here is an example:

A friend tells me what I said the other day hurt her. I sincerely apologize to her and ask her for her forgiveness. If she is open to heal the wound she will say "I forgive you" and then I will say to her "how can I atone for this action?" She could say to me "I want you to think what words you are using before you speak".  I can then say "I can do that and then I ask her how long do you want me to do this?" She should give me an  amount that is specific like 3 weeks. After the 3 weeks you will see the tension has vanish and your relationship gets even stronger and the most important the wound is completely healed so there is no memory of this incident. 

I have not just read about this but I have done this process with several of my friends and I will tell you when you do this deep process of forgiveness it is when you even get greater insights and truly great treasures and blessings.
